"I applied because friends working here spoke highly of the company," Anthony shares, and despite coming from a different trade, he quickly became an important part of the trawl manufacturing industry.

From the start, Anthony was struck by the unique and supportive work environment at Egersund Trål. "The atmosphere here is great, and it shows through the low sickness absence rates," he observes. The strong culture of camaraderie, built by a team with many long-serving members, made Anthony’s transition into the company seamless, allowing him to find his footing and thrive.

Learning the ropes

In his role, Anthony has honed his skills, especially in assembling large trawl meshes—a task he quickly mastered. "I enjoy most tasks, but assembling the meshes is what I enjoy the most," he says. The variety in his daily work keeps him engaged and motivated. "No two days are the same. While new production is a major focus, there's always a vessel needing service," he adds.

Bringing fresh energy

As one of the younger employees at Egersund Trål, at only 22 years of age, Anthony brings fresh energy to a veteran team. Anthony's move from plumbing to trawl manufacturing at Egersund Trål proves how skills from different fields can find new value in a fresh setting. He's quickly adapted, learning to assemble large trawl meshes and handling the daily variety of tasks.
